Muscle Release Technique (MRT)

The Muscle Release Technique ™ is derived from a technique taught in Europe. The ‘common sense’; approach of this technique has been applied to chronic and acute soft tissue problems or the SYNDROMES; carpal tunnel, thoracic outlet, & others. . The results have been profoundly successful. This technique uses Active Isolated Stretching (see therapy techniques stretching) in conjunction with neuromuscular massage strokes ranging from superficial to deep, all in accordance to the tolerance of the client. The foundational concept is that a tight muscle causes shortening of the muscle fibers, thereby causing; weakness, pain, discomfort, aches, & immobility. Therefore, if the muscle fibers can be elongated, via Active Isolated Stretching, less strain is put on the tendons and bony attachments, (relieving pain) and the massage increases circulation, healing and repair of scar tissues.

Another variation is ACTIVE RELEASE TECHNIQUE. Which requires the client to be the active participant in performing the stretch.
